Salyut-7 2018-09-06T12:15:16+02:00

Project Description

At the height of the Cold War in 1985, an unmanned Soviet space Salyut 7 suddenly stops responding to commands from the Control Center. If the space station – the pride of Soviet space engineering – falls from the sky, not only will it damage the image of the country, it will also be a disaster bringing untold casualties. To investigate the failure and prevent the catastrophe, people must be sent to the station. Yet no one in history has ever attempted to dock to 20 tons of uncontrollable metal . Even though the team realizes that they have very little chance to return to Earth alive, this risky way is the only solution.

“Space thriller spectacular, Russian style”

This extraordinary film is based on actual events; the rescue of the Salyut-7. It is the story of one of the most daring and technical challenging missions in the history of space exploration. A story that most in the West have never heard of and maybe it’s even the long-expected answer to Hollywoodproductions like Gravity and Apollo 13. This Russian space thriller will leave you on the edge of your seat. Even when you’re not a big fan of space movies, it is a must see. Just for the breathtaking space footage and outrageous special effects.
